This last week was a pretty great week however could have been better. On Wednesday we were able to teach a couple lessons one to an investigator named Paulo who always goes off on a million tangents about things that having nothing to do with the lesson and also he will randomly sing during the lesson sometimes which it is hard not to laugh at that. We also we able to teach Jussara and her 8 year old daughter asked us if she could have a Book of Mormon so she could read it. We also visited a family with a member but only the wife believes it and the husband doesn´t so she is not really wanting to do anything unless he does something. Something i have learned on the mission is that women are more open to the gospel and also the pay more attention to the Spirit than men do. That is why there will be more women than men in the Celestial Kingdom. We had a meeting with our Ward Mission Leader which went really well and we finished planning an activity however it was very rushed. Then on Thursday we had a difficult time finding people to teach for while and alot of things fell through. However we were able to teach Jussara and Vanda and get them a bit closer to baptism. We also ended up having a family home evening at a members house and Vanda and her two granddaughters were there and also Alex and his sister and a the parents of a girl who is a member but they aren´t. We taught about the importance of the Book of Mormon and how it can change the lives of anybody who reads it and follows its teachings. A young women from the ward ended up introducing us to a friend who wanted to hear about the gospel. Also she made us stop almost in the middle of the street and a bus almost hit me however she grabbed my wrist and pulled me away from the middle of the street, it was absolutely crazy and weird all at the same time. On Friday we had another day of things falling through. However we were able to teach Jussara and Geovani about the word of wisdom and they committed to living it. Jussara only has a problem with coffee which a majority of Brasil does. Geovani will be a bit more difficult because he drinks and smokes and drinks coffee. We taught Vanda about the difference between intention and action. We gave her a couple Liahona´s to read. We ended up teaching the young womens friend name Keli and also Tiago and they both said they were going to church. On Saturday we were able to teach quite a few people including that we had an activity. We also went in the morning and helped an old widow in our ward clean out her shed and organize it. The activity went well but it started late because it took forever for people to show up and sadly there was very few people, about 20. We watched a small clip of Gordon B. Hinckley testifying of Jesus Christ and his role as the Savior. Then we had ice cream and listened to a young man play music on his guitar alot of different songs including Beatles songs and other Brazilian songs. It was different but went pretty well. At church we had the Bishop´s wife's aunt come to church and also a member brought her neighbor who is 14 years old. Sadly we tried to give Jussara a ride but she ended up being really sick and going to the hospital. The day of Sunday was absolutely horrible because everyone was watching a big soccer game and no one was home and also it was really hot. Then yesterday we had a good day. We had a really good lunch. Then we were able to teach some people. Some man came up to us while i was explaining something in English with Elder Kramer and asked us where we were from and it turned in to talking about the gospel and he was really interested and asked us to come to his house tomorrow. I am excited to go and teach him. We found out Vanda has only smoked 1 cigarette the last few day and also that she didn´t go to church because she didn´t want to go alone and her family was all gone. We also went and taught the 14 year old girl that went to church yesterday and also her mom and sister. The member who brought her to church went with us. They ended up liking our message and seemed quite interested in learning more and also said they would be going to church this Sunday. I am glad when the members help us to find people to teach. Today in the morning we went and got our hair cut and then we got ready and went back to where we got our hair cut and had lunch there. It was really good and very healthy (possibly the most healthy meal i have eaten here in Brasil because it had fruits vegetables and natural juice). Well it was quite a good week and i fell this week will also be a good week. I hope all is well at home. I love you all very much and i love serving a mission, it has been such a great thing and i wouldn´t trade this experience for anything. Love you.
Love Elder Cefalo
